LogoMeetings are on Wednesdays at 3:00pm in Furness Lecture Theatre 1 on campus. We normally let people into the room at 3:00pm and start the anime showings at 3:30pm, then go on until 6:00pm when Pulsar starts. This gives us enough time to watch a film or a few episodes. Please make sure that absolutely no litter is left behind.

We also have meetings every Saturday.
On odd weeks we have free-for-alls from 2:00pm til 6:00pm where anyone can bring along any anime they'd like to share and we'll vote on it.
On even weeks its Themed Saturdays 1:00pm til 9:00pm (if you can survive that long!) for which execs will decide on a theme and a selection of anime on which everyone votes.

A newsletter is emailed every week roughly on Monday saying what's being shown. If there are any problems with the mailing list - you're not getting an email for example - either speak to the secretary in person at the meeting or email them anytime.

The first term each year will include a number of popular series, the all-time great anime to help introduce the new members to the variety that you can find within anime. For the remaining two terms we'll be showing slightly lesser known but great anime. Normally we show a whole series, so some programs will run over a few weeks. We're also trying to favour subbed anime over dubbed and preferably fansubbed anime if we can get it.

Fansubs are series or films which have been subtitled by fans. When a company makes it clear that they aren't going to translate an anime any time soon, groups of fans often subtitle it themselves, and distribute it freely. You can make as many copies you want of a fansub, provided you agree to destroy it and buy the official sub once it comes out.

There is no charge for anything, not even membership - this anime society is completely free - so just turn up to the meetings.

Once a year around week 6 of the first term there is an annual general meeting (AGM), where a new exec is elected and any other official business is brought up for discussion.
